The question is, are we better served by a philosophy that subscribes to a non-sentient universe, where everything happens by chance; or by a sentient version in which there is not only purpose but a desire to fulfill that purpose? The question is best answered by looking at something that can only be done if the latter option is taken. That is, how do we create a single universal science with a single quantifiable method of validation? Well we know this is not happening within the realm of the physical sciences, so lets look at the other option.
