Description

According to the Cambridge Dictionary, people pleasing is defined as "someone who cares a lot about whether people like him or her and always wants others to approve his or her actions." (Cambridge Dictionary, 2023) Have you found yourself caring more about someone else's view of you, rather than your own? Have you found yourself caring more for a person, more than you care for yourself?

People pleasing can stem from childhood trauma or any other trauma in your life, but the effects of it can be hard to overcome. In this episode of The Latika Vines Show, Latika shares how people pleasing can stem from neglect and abandonment, or any other trauma you experienced in the past. And, she identifies five (5) ways you can overcome and stop people pleasing, so you can find your inner worth and value because it doesn't look good on you.

1.       Remind yourself what God promised you

2.       Be true to yourself, stop trying to fit in

3.       Have healthy boundaries, with yourself and others

4.       Spend time alone, with God

5.       Understand that you can’t please anyone but yourself
