This week on Feast to Film, we’re tuning in to The Last Broadcast, a low-budget mockumentary that predates The Blair Witch Project and asks: what really happened in the Pine Barrens?

We break down the film’s eerie premise, its unconventional storytelling style, and the blurred lines between fact and fiction. From static-filled VHS aesthetics to one of the strangest twist endings we’ve seen, this one’s a feast full of mystery—and maybe a few things we’d send back to the kitchen.

David Leigh takes into his documentary of the murders of the Fact or Fiction crew who were murdered while searching for the legendary Jersey Devil. What starts out as a simple documentary takes a turn when new evidence is found that changes everything we thought we knew about the Jersey Devil and these murders. Who really killed the crew for Fact or Fiction, was it some legendary creature or one of their own? The only way to find out is to step behind the camera and see The Last Broadcast.

Is this Mockumentary the trailblazer for what would come a year later with The Blair Witch Project? Or is it doomed to fade into obscurity? Find out on this episode of Feasts of Film!
