Karen Williamson was feeling well and looking forward to a trip to Europe so it was a shock when she was diagnosed with leukemia. She spent many months in the hospital being treated for the disease. Early on, her medical team told her she would need a stem cell transplant. Karen says the process went relatively smoothly. However, she admits that reading about what was going to happen did not do her any good. "What I needed to do was take it one day at a time and trust my medical team."
