In this inaugural episode, the Network for Research into Chinese Education Mobilities (NRCEM) has invited Dr Jamie Coates to discuss the key findings of his documentary film ‘Tokyo Pengyou‘ and his recent journal article ‘The Cruel Optimism of Mobility‘ in positions journal. He reveals anecdotes and key challenges in making the film and publishing the article. He also looks forward to his book and grant application based on this research project.
