Several times in the last week, I found myself focusing on past sins. I was thinking many what if situations. I was really being hard on myself about things I cannot change. I can’t make the consequences nor the outcome change. They remain and life moves forward.

Don’t misunderstand, meaningful reflection is important and we should reflect. These reflections remind us of where we’ve been so we can more fully appreciate where we are headed. For example, as I reflect on past sins, I find myself more appreciative and grateful to God for His amazing grace and forgiveness. I am overwhelmed with gratitude that Christ intervened on my behalf and paid a sin debt that is more costly than I could ever pay.
