Welcome back to Nuanced Beauty!

Today we ask the question: What do you Value?

Noticing the things we value most, and the things we value least, can help us see why it's so easy, OR so  hard, to be around another person. There are many ways we could go about figuring out out values, but let's focus in on:

How we spend our money

and

How we spend our time

Consider the small and large purchases, and how we save or donate.

I dive into how our grocery budget has changed because we've learned a lot about functional medicine and how significantly food matters to our health. Our value has changed in this area and we view the expense as worth it.

I also spend some time discussing our expenses around our appearance, in particular how much we (the American culture) spend on make-up products. We value how we look, we want to be seen and viewed as beautiful.

Next we move into how we spend our time.

I breakdown our hours in a week, and how much time we have left to do what we'd like to do after we account for all the normal day to day tasks (44 hours).

When looking at our schedule, I notice that we value music and fitness. Lastly, I make note of how much time is spent on our phones, but with a positive acknowledgment to how our phones can provide connection and be a resource to help us in our day to day tasks.

In conclusion, we all have a limited amount of time and money, and we all have to decide what we'd like to value and how we will spend it. We don't often align perfectly with others, and sometimes, our values may be the exact opposite things, and that's ok.

Embrace the nuanced beauty in how your values are different.
