A philosophy is a perception. One person's perception on how to live life based upon what they have learned and experienced in life. When others say it has to be that person's way then it becomes an ism and all isms are traps because they are someone else's perception. You have to make your own philosophy on life.
Principle never stops working, never deviates and works for all. One can point them out and how they deal with it, they can give examples of how it is working, and then it is up to the individual to take those principles and the nuggets that resonate and make it your own. That is what higher education used to be. Learning these principles and how to think for yourself. This in turn makes you self sufficient. You never need anyone or anything as long as you can think and breathe.
It's like a recipe. First you follow it exactly and then you make it your own if you like it and make it enough.
Hope this helps and blessings to you!!
