Description

Dr. Mark E. Shaw talks with Tim Brown, founder of His Steps Ministries. Tim also serves on the TAC Board of Directors and is a Commissioned Addictions Biblical Counselor. As a counselor, teacher, and disciple-maker, Tim is a faithful servant of Jesus Christ who has a heart for those struggling with addiction.

In this podcast, Mark and Tim begin the discussion by reading Psalm 91 and posing the question: in whom do you find your shelter and refuge?

You might think the answer is easy: Jesus, of course! But do we always make him our refuge? Do we daily seek to make Him our #1? Tim talks about how our flesh oftentimes gets in the way of making Christ the center of our lives. It's amazing: a thousand times we fail Him, yet He remains faithful to us. What love!

Thought is what affects how we feel, and then drives our actions. Reactions to circumstances in our lives amount to one of two things: worry or worship. We must focus on the root of our actions: our thoughts.

What are you thinking about others? What do you think about God? What are your thoughts about situations around you? Your answers to these questions will dictate how you respond to everything in life.

Fill your mind with God’s Word, and He will change the way you feel and act.

It's a crazy time. In a world of chaos, a pandemic, racism, violence, and increasing sin — we as Christians can rest assured that God is with us and He is in control.

Psalm 91:1 He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.

Psalm 46:10 be still and know that I am God

God allows suffering in our lives to bring us ultimately closer to Him and to serve Him better in this life, as we eagerly await the life eternal.

Get Involved! We encourage you to get involved in ministry to the addicted, receive training, as the addicted need the church to point them to Jesus. Find out how to get equipped here.
