Mark 12:28-31
“Of all the commandments, which is the most important?” “The most important one,” answered Jesus, “is this: ‘Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.”

So What is Love?
The world tells us Love
1 is a strong affection for another arising out of kinship or personal ties
(2) an attraction based on sexual desire : affection and tenderness felt by lovers
(3) an affection based on admiration, benevolence, or common interests
It’s a warm attachment, enthusiasm, or devotion

What does the Lord say Love is?
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
Philippians 2:3-4
Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others.
Philippians 2:7 he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness.

The Lord tells us what love is, what it isn’t, what it does and doesn’t and then demonstrates to us what it looks like.
Love is a command not an option. It isn’t self-seeking but rather spirit lead and manifest itself through acts of service!
