Born and raised on Hawaiian land (Oahu)
Family origins in Cagayan and Pangasinan, Philippines of the Ilokano people
Earned a B.S. Psychology with a secondary major in Healthy Lifestyle Management from Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska
Will be moving back to Oahu this Fall 2020 to pursue a Master’s Degree in Social Work at UH Manoa
Passionate about mental health, identity development, spirituality, food, and music
Advice for the Next Generation:
Learn more about your family history, especially if you have grandparents around who can speak of your ancestors. Who you are is a culmination of all who have come before you.
This work - decolonization - is not easy. White supremacy pervades in every facet of our lives and it can feel hopeless sometimes. Be gentle with yourself as you embark on the journey towards your higher self. You don’t have to go through this alone!
