Description

1.5 Filipinx American, born in Manila and migrated to Hawaii at a young age. Alvin is quantitative economics Major with an aspiring Math Minor. His advice to the next generation is,"It’s important to keep in touch with the media in the Philippines. A huge part to understanding and assimilating to a culture is to understand not only the history of the place, but the pop culture media that the Philippine locality is exposed to. An example would be when I watched Derry Girls on Netflix. I only stayed in Dublin for 2 months but knowing the history and a general knowledge of the geography and its pop culture helped me appreciate the jokes and the show more."
