Description

When it comes to moving to a new country It sometimes feels little depressing because especially if you are moving at an age where you already established a close group of friends and you were told that you would be moving and leave those you grew up with. In Faye Miguel's case,  although she was saddened with the news of moving, she was able to overcome it and had that optimistic mindset that even if she is a first-generation immigrant she wanted to break that stereotypes that people have with them.

"In 2013, I left Baguio City, Philippines to go to Maui, Hawaii. I was 15 years old and I hated moving away from my friends and family. It was only me and my mom who moved in with my grandma who has been in Hawaii for a while. I attended Maui High School where I was really active in school clubs and events. During this time, I was dancing in a local dance studio, held multiple board positions in DECA - high school business club, and I was in the business pathway. I decided to pursue a Bachelor in Business Administration in UH Manoa, a place where it felt like far enough to be independent but close enough to come back anytime I please. I became part of different organizations again such as the Alpha Gamma Delta sorority and the American Marketing Association. I am hoping to graduate by Spring 2021 with BBA majors in Marketing, International Business, and Management Information Systems."
