Episode 43 with Robin Bonomi! Robin is a PhD, a soon to be MD, a mother to baby Wade, wife to a coast guard officer, and speedy runner. Robin was gracious enough to share her pregnancy and birth story as well as valuable insight into the birth process from the lens of a soon to be medical doctor. Robin had the unique experience of completing rounds in labor and delivery the very day that she was (unknowingly) in labor.  In the course of our conversation, Robin and I spoke not only of pregnancy and birth-related topics- we also chatted about what Robin will be specializing in (psychiatry), and our shared interest in neuroimaging.  We mentioned a few books : The Body Keeps the Score: Brain, Mind, and Body in the Healing of Trauma by Bessel van der Kolk M.D. : https://www.amazon.com/Body-Keeps-Score-Healing-Trauma/dp/0143127748/ref=sr_1_3?crid=3MNLWVDSNPP7D&dchild=1&keywords=the+body+keeps+the+score&qid=1584650041&sprefix=the+body%2Caps%2C246&sr=8-3 And The Boy Who Was Raised as a Dog: And Other Stories from a Child Psychiatrist's Notebook--What Traumatized Children Can Teach Us About Loss, Love, and Healing by Bruce D.
