Despite everything happening now, we really do live in a privileged era. The word “therapy” used to carry such stigma, but that shame has whittled away and given permission to a whole new generation to feel. Elisha’s own mental health journey had contributed not only to her exit from the advertising industry after 10 years, but also led to an exploration of her own identity, values, and purpose.
The result of it all is a woman with real resiliency and passion, not just for the art therapy world but for her life beyond her new burgeoning career and that has helped her be be a better counselor and art therapist to those she serves. It’s a serendipitous coincidence that even her name is hyphenated, a nod that she was always destined to do more and be more than just one great thing.
We talk about her compounding trials over the last decade, her own therapy journey, minority Trump voters, Chris’s book recommendation from the upper crust, and we start a podcast ON TIME.
