Genesis 17.1-14, 22-27
God changed Abram’s name to Abraham and asked him to go through a painful process to display that he is part of God’s people. But this sign of the promise would not be publicly displayed. It would be between man and God. It would communicate that the flesh of that person has been cut off in order to live for God. God wants our hearts.
