Did you know that on average, people spend only 15 minutes a day on health-related self-care? For this episode of Mental Health Month, during Women's Health Week, Coach Colette discusses self-care and self-compassion. What makes you feel grounded? She encourages you first to consider how you want to feel to help you decide what nourishing activities you want to take on.
Coach Colette also speaks to the importance of being kind to yourself, especially for women of color who may be internalizing negative stereotypes and perceptions perpetuated by the media. Are you saying no when you don't want to do something, even if you feel pressure to say yes? Are you setting boundaries in your relationships? Are you protecting your energy? All of these are important aspects of self-compassion, and as Audre Lorde calls it, self-preservation.
We're excited to share that Coach Colette has a NEW mental health resource— the 7-Days of Self-Care e-Journal that includes checklists, suggested actions, and worksheets to help track your progress on your self-care journey. If you need to find new ways to take care of yourself and a getaway from chaos at work, home, or in your own mind, then this journal could be a great resource for you! Get your journal here.
