Whew Chile! The first time I heard "Your Singleness is Not A Punishment for your Imperfections" was in a blog post from Jasmine L. Holmes.
A lot of times… unknowingly I believe… Christian Culture makes women feel like they have to be perfect to be deserving of a relationship. They tell us that we should be using our singleness to PREPARE for our relationship. So for someone who like me who feels like they have been preparing, it can feel like DANG HOW MUCH PREPARING DO I NEED TO DO?! It can easily start to make up obsess over our imperfections and somehow feel like they have disqualified us. This week we unpack that!
