I read “Is God a Taoist” from Raymond M Smullyan’s 1977 work “The Tao is Silent”. Where the question of “why do we have free will?” Is initially asked and which leads into various thought-provoking additional questions involving morality, sin, logic, purpose, happiness, eternal life, belief, misconceptions of what God is(I.e. placeholder concept for the universe that’s humans wish to personify) what is evil, whether we are free or if it’s all determined, and how God(or at least this dialogue’s interpretation of god as a process) flows like the Tao. With some additional reflections from Douglas R. Hofstadter(who Included this work in his “the Mind’s I”). I feel this would be good for non-Religious, as well as not overly sensitive religious folks as well.
