Randy Moore-
My Grand parents' children of sharecroppers who migrated from the South to the mid-west in 1949 (South / North Carolina)
I was born in Youngstown to a single mother and lived in the inner city…
From junior high-to-high school……ran with the wrong crowd….18, I dropped out of school.
1992 by the age of 20, with many of my childhood friends, deceased, and incarcerated…
My mother decided, to purchase me a one-way bus ticket and sent me to live with her cousin in Cheney WA….
It is there I met my wife who was attending EWU.
A year later we married and moved away to Moses Lake, WA
In Moses Lake, I attended Big Bend…obtained my Ged, and studied early childhood…
In 1999 I worked for MLSD as campus security, where I was promoted to supervisor, and taught gang awareness and drug recognition classes for 9years.
During that time, I was later recruited by the MLPD department and became a Reserve police officer.
11 years later, my family relocated to TX due to a family emergency.
At that time, I joined the Comal County sheriff's office and worked as a patrol deputy and on…. hostage-negotiating team for 3 years.
In 2015 After 5 years, we relocated back to WA,
In 2016 the Chief of the Eastern WA University Police Department, a close friend called and said I know you love community engagement, mentoring, and building relationships with students….so you should come Check out what we are doing in Cheney...
So, as fate would have it, I have spent the next 4 1/2 years developing myself as a key leader…for EWUPD.
In 2021 I accepted my current role as the Director of Campus Safety for the Second Largest School district in the state of WA.
