Description

The story of Sodom in Genesis 19:1-11 reveals how sin becomes normalized in society when shame disappears. Lot, despite being called righteous, gradually compromised his values by choosing prosperity over spiritual fellowship with Abraham. His downfall progressed from proximity to blessing, through separation and ignored warnings, to gaining worldly position and ultimately moral collapse. When truth-tellers challenge normalized sin, they become the enemy rather than their message being debated. This pattern warns us to examine our own compromises in personal conscience, family instruction, church truth, and national values. Silence in the face of evil is not neutrality but compromise, and we must honestly assess where we might be accommodating culture instead of standing firm on biblical truth.
