On this edition of The Sports King Show, we look back on the legendary career of Washington Redskins Offensive Line Coach Joe Bugel who passed away on Sunday at age 80. Bugel was an iconic member of the Redskins franchise who coined the nickname the "Hogs" which became the beloved name of the storied offensive line who dominated throughout the 1980s and early 1990s. We also mention the Patriots signing of Cam Newton for a below market price and what his addition could mean for the Patriots this season. We go over this past weekend's Travelers Golf Tournament won by Dustin Johnson and we discuss Denny Hamlin's win at Pocono Raceway over the weekend.
In Hour Two we are joined by the 1982 NFL MVP Mark Moseley who will give us his unique perspective on Coach Joe Bugel and what he meant as a Coach, man and friend. Mark talks about some of the unique aspects of Bugel and what made him so special and effective as a coach. We talk about the relationships he had with his players and why they would all run through a wall for him. We discuss Mark's personal relationship with Coach Bugel and what he meant to him on a personal level. Next, I discuss the top sports stories of the day and take a look ahead to the upcoming seasons for the NBA and MLB and what they need to do to keep players safe.
