After an All-Star, league leading 2019 season, Kirby goes into detail about growing up in Hawaii, overcoming injury, failing to be drafted out of junior college, bouncing around teams, and breaking out as the San Diego Padres closer. The feeling of success doesn't last long though as the next season is right around the corner and 'the work never stops.' Kirby also takes us into the mind of a closer where he explains his approach to executing pitches and ultimately how he has learned to compete against at the highest level. Lastly, Kirby explains he and his wife's involvement with the Epilepsy Foundation of San Diego and then does his best to navigate The Gauntlet.
