Description

On this episode, I recap the sweltering, NYC heat-wave infused weekend of going down memory lane at my parents’ house and finishing Marty Neumeirer’s outstanding book, The 46 Rules of Genius. I break down how all of the nostalgia gave me a bit of a creative jolt and how this book does a fantastic job at quantifying what that “creative jolt” can ultimately be and provides a framework around how to harness it for growth. We talk high heels, lambos and even a little Wu-Tang in a discussion around what Mr. Neumeirer’s attempts to instill within its readers. I also eventually go on a little rant how overly parroted rules in the design community like”form follows function” isn’t anything close to an absolute rule. This one is a little design nerdy but the book that is recapped is extremely valuable for anyone with a creative pursuit whether it be writing, music, coding, design or anything else! Check it on the latest episode!
