Back to sharks. Since the writing of this last episode my free diving, shark loving son went on another dive in Hawaii. This time, under the guidance of his Dive Master, was told all the little sharks that were swimming away from them because they knew there was a larger predator approaching…
Most people would take this as a cue to exit the deep blue water immediately. However, his Dive Master/ TRAINER said they’d be fine and it was probably only a tiger shark, like the one the movie “Soul Surfer” was based on. You know, the one where the surfer girl gets her arm bitten off by a tiger shark?
Sure enough, within a short while there she was, They called her “Roxy” and she was easily 12’ in length. The TRAINER said to face her and push her on the nose if she got too close. How did he know to give that TRAINING tip? He is a TRAINER!
TRAINERS have seen enough, experienced enough, and failed enough to know what’s coming and how to deal with it. Their legendary vision is the thing that creates champions.
