Bhavna Radia is a family lawyer and divorce expert. She is a single mom to 3 daughters based in London, UK. After her own marriage break down, she suddenly found herself going through the pain of divorce, single parenting, and homelessness with 3 very young children.
Bhavna was able to transmute her pain into a victory and today she helps other women navigate the tumultuous road of divorce. She started her company after her divorce because the experience showed her that the divorce process in the UK did not work in the way it should. It left families broken, poorer, and in a situation where there was more hostility. She wanted to bring her skills as a family lawyer, mediator and her personal experience of divorce. Bhavna brought to life her vision of empowering clients, saving them on legal fees. The company is thriving and she is able to keep helping people and couples to divorce with kindness and compassion every day.
Her advice for single parents: Do not stress over all the things that you need to do. There are some things that are not as important as others. Having a few things that need to happen every day is fine. As long as her children were fed, clean, and asleep on time was all she could manage to start with. She wouldn't worry about making sure that the house was clean, ironing was done and until things settled down she shouldn't stress about all the extracurricular activities and even being top in the class! Having a plan around the children with her ex-partner was important.
