Ron is our spiritual coffee godparent. Years before the Upstate Coffee Collective would prompt him to express his love for coffee in our Highlight Roast Series, Ron was dreaming up his ultimate café experience and spreading coffee education with his cohorts in the Capital Region Coffee Collective. Ron is a Coffee industry veteran and mentor. Part owner, Director of Coffee, Educator, and occasional barista of Stacks Espresso Bar in Albany, Ron is constantly flexing his coffee knowhow to the benefit of those around him.
Ron’s philosophy is simple: Care about people, and put your effort into that care. Over the years he’s matured as an individual, a business owner, and a coffee enthusiast, and the lesson he has imparted on us the most is to put people first.
Ron met Shady and Elias while he was literally IN SEARCH OF this very coffee! In fact, one could say that Ron, Shady, and Elias’ passions were manifestly united by this year’s first Highlight Roast.
