Ernestine Lyons hosts Quick to Politic with guest Colton Dale   Colton Dale grew up in Harper Woods to a working-class family that experienced the typical hardships of modern American life. He took an interest in policy and politics in high school when learning about history, government, and especially environmental science.   Today, with a bachelor’s degree in political science and masters degree in public administration from Wayne State University,. Colton works in municipal government helping small businesses launch and expand. In the city of Oak Park.   He has previous experience in political organizing, campaign management, and government communications. Actively involved in Democratic politics at the statewide and local level, he is also the 2nd Vice President of the Grosse Point Democratic Club.  1. What sparked your interest in politics in particular? And how will Democrats navigate the sea of social upheaval and systemic change as a party? It seems the party is fractured with young extremists on the far right (the Bernies and the AOCs) and then the moderates. 2. You work in small business development, tell us more about that.  3. I am a firm believer that economic justice is social justice. How can the metro Detroit small business ecosystem continue to bolster and encourage inclusive innovation that catalyzes talent for economic and community development? 4. You have been a campaign manager, planning specialist, and very active with the democratic party. What's next for you? Political office or are you seeking to be more of a problem solver for fixing systems.
