POEMS: "One day you won't - Josh Lynott

I admire the man who says I will

Even at short, if it's for the cheap thrill.

I admire the lady, who says I will,

Even at long, with chances close to nill.

Get lost, go up, and think you're down.

You're still better off in the wrong town.

Find your way, think you're right, end up left

You're still better than handing time to the theft.

Honey is sweet, when the jars in your hand.

Never sweeter, when the bees from a foreign land.

No bee stings a person who sits with the pollen,

A life planting flowers, is something uncommon.

What happens when your will turns to won't,

are you scared of the day your 'dos' become don't?

Heavy legs, a tired brain, and the luxury of comfort

puts an end to your days feeling triumphant.

Make your heart rigid, put an axe through your soul.

The power of won't, quickly builds an irrefutable toll.

If you choose to waltz, put your foot forward

Say I will, keep dancing, no matter how awkward.

I admire the lady who says I will,

I admire the man who won't accept nill.

Do it before you don't,

because one day you won't.

POEM TWO

"This poem is brought to you from down under"

Written by Bryan Buttigieg, and read by Josh Lynott.

hey mate, give a listen to the Josh Lynott project

asking the questions to make you think and reflect

check in on the mindset

sometimes all you need is to press the button, to reset

take a chance, open your world to strangers

a risk that provides what you seek, worth the wagers

share a familiar tune, play that Zach Bryan song Sara's place,

there's much more to gain from running, than a race

take risk,

the pace of your life doesn't need to be brisk

go slow,

that extra time allows you to fully grow

the doors will open for the right opportunity,

there's something special about finding your community

stay with it, stay present

accept what has happened there’s no need to repent

speak your dreams into the world, manifest

the universe will deliver someday, making you feel truly blessed

maintain your youth, drink from the fountain

spend some time in nature, among the mountain

do what you love

continue to create, build, dream, expand the mind and what you think of

you are a poem

put it all out there, don't be afraid to show 'em

it's the little things, the 1-percent

that'll stick in your mind and heart like cement

paths redirected, it may take some time to have the clarity and realization

now you’re fully diving into life, reaching a state of elation

speak clear of your intention

control what you can, learn to let go, not everything is meant for retention

never lose that childlike wonder

this poem is brought to you from down under

remember that the world becomes cruel when it's filled with spite

while you're here try out a fresh sourdough with some butter and Vegemite

Journal Prompt:

- What is your greatest expression?

- When do you feel most alive?

- What makes you feel this way?

- What actions do you need to take to live into this expression?
