Isaiah 35:1,8, The wilderness and the solitary place shall be glad for them; and the desert shall rejoice, and blossom as the rose…And an highway shall be there, and a way, and it shall be called The way of holiness; the unclean shall not pass over it; but it shall be for those: the wayfaring men, though fools, shall not err therein.
Contained within these verses is a great spiritual truth that has become lost to the modern church in America. How does the wild, desolate, sterile place become a source of gladness and blossoming of life? It is counterintuitive, as is so much of the true life of faith. The Way of Holiness is a summons, a calling out. You and I live in a world of too much noise, too much busyness, and too many demands. We are all guilty of surrendering ourselves to the false world and because we fill our time with so much of it we have so little time to be in the pursuit of a holy and rich life with God. Join Overtrek and two guests, Charlie Russell and Matthew Jones, as they discuss the recent conference which they led over three days to provide the opportunity to escape, on purpose, from the distracting world that draws us away from life with God.
