Gwendolyn Lambert Smalls is the sister of Linwood Lambert Jr, who in 2013, died in police custody after the officers discharged their Tasers a total of 20 times, while he was shackled — in violation of local rules and federal guidelines.
Her first book, When Shall The Bough Break (coming soon) is about the rising number of people of color who die in police custody or at the hands of the police. Gwendolyn's goal is to bring awareness on the need for old laws to be changed and new laws to be written. Almost ten years later, Gwendolyn and her family continue to seek answers in the death of their brother and only son.
