I know self care can be such an easy thing to write off, when we look at our busy lives it can easily fall to the bottom of the list, I have certainly been guilty of the the old "I'll get started tomorrow" or "I don't have time". The thing is journaling, sitting in silence or taking a dance break can feel like such a waste of time when we're under pressure or feeling like there are so many other things we need to attend to in our lives (I've put self care at the bottom of the list many times in my life) ......but really is there anything more important than taking care of ourselves? Really consider that. What else IS more important than taking CARE of ourselves? I know what my life looks like and feels like when I take care of myself - and its exponentially better. I also know that when I'm not taking care of myself everything else in my life (relationships, work, energy levels, working out....) feels so much harder! James is such a guiding light in the world of self care, really providing a strong and beautiful perspective and example of what can be created just by a few simple tools. James shares his 5 to thrive in this interview - the things he prioritises doing every day as part of his own self care routine, and talks us through his journey of creating this practice of caring for himself that has opened up his life in ways that seem so big.....from such simple and seemingly small practices.
I LOVED doing this interview.
