With a master’s in school counseling and a background in early childhood education, Carla worked primarily in education and spent many years as the director of the Summer Program at The Denver Waldorf School prior to pursuing a career in health and wellness. After losing both her sister and father to cancer in the same year, however, she was galvanized into action, seeking to understand everything she could to prevent this future for herself and her family. Her research led her to The Nutrition Therapy Institute.

Carla’s unique combination of qualifications, and personal experience navigating motherhood and trauma, drove her to found Rebel Roots Nutrition and inspires the work she does today. Carla applies the in-depth, science-based training she has acquired to empower all humans, but especially new and aspiring mothers, to attain optimal wellness for themselves and their families and embrace the joy of parenthood and family.
