Bubba Gaeddert came onto The Academy of Esports podcast to talk about the current work of the Varsity Esports Foundation, and share his path to becoming an important person on the K12 esports landscape. He also made sure to promote the Social Distancing Cup. With everyone stuck at home and quarantined, Generation Esports (the platform behind High School Esports League), in partnership with the Varsity Esports Foundation, is launching a FREE charity tournament for League of Legends, Rocket League, and Teamfight Tactics Bubba Gaeddert serves as the Executive Director of the Varsity Esports Foundation. This non-profit strives to increase literacy around the esports industry’s positive impact on healthy lifestyles, mental health, community, STEM and digital citizenship. Bubba has worked in the non-profit and traditional sports industry for 20 years with the YMCA, NCAA, NAIA and the Chamber of Commerce. Three years ago he dove deep into the esports industry and partnered with esports organizations to create this foundation. He now works to educate businesses, organizations, and schools about being proactive around the foundation's initiatives.
