When running Facebook ads for Spotify, split testing is a crucial step in the optimization process, but it is possible to overdo it. 

I know from experience. 

Take it from me, more options aren't always better. While you should always be a/b testing your ad creative, going overboard can destroy your campaign results and cost you a lot of money in the process.
