Dr. Ashlee Tietje(Class of 2006) is a professor at Indiana Wesleyan University and formerly served at SWU. She is married to Matthew Tietje and they have one daughter, Deborah. On this episode, I talk to Dr. Tietje about vaccine development and what that means for the current COVID-19 pandemic. The questions we discuss are:
1. How does the process of developing a vaccine begin?
2. What’s the timetable for vaccine development?
3. Who is chosen to test the vaccine?
4. When will we know if the Covid-19 vaccine is effective?
5. There are lots of strong opinions about vaccines. How can people know they are safe, effective, and made ethically?
Ashlee, along with others, will by our Science Correspondent to keep you up to date as we follow the pandemic and a COVID-19 vaccine.
