Description

“Take This Hammer” was a superb documentary (directed by Richard O. Moore) about 1963 San Francisco, Black people and James Baldwin’s visit to the Bay Area city in California during the spring of that year. Released in the U.S. in February 1964 on KQED, a PBS television affiliate in San Francisco, “Take This Hammer” had 15 minutes gutted from its 59-minute length due to KQED board members being afraid of the truth of what the documentary had to say. Omar Moore on the documentary and present-day San Francisco. (THIS EPISODE CONTAINS: Foul language.) 🔥🔥 June 5, 2021.

NOTE: Salina Koroma’s documentary “Dreamland: The Burning Of Black Wall Street”, re-airs tonight (June 5) at 9pm Eastern U.S. on CNN.
