This Sunday, we dig deeper into the Parable of the Good Samaritan. Here we see a conversation between Jesus and an expert of the law regarding how to inherit eternal life. Jesus’ answer included this parable teaching that we can’t inherit eternal life by doing good works but only by God’s grace through Christ Jesus alone. Because God had ben gracious and merciful to us, we are also to show grace and mercy towards others.
As we listen to today’s sermon, the question to answer is not “Who is my neighbor?’ but rather “Will I be a neighbor to someone today?”
John 13:34 says, “A new command I give you; Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.”
