Today, we are blessed to be hearing about missions through our guest speaker, Dr. Hyeok Seon Kwon.
Our Scripture today, Matthew 25:14-30, also known as the Parable of the Talents, tells the story of a master who gives his servants different amounts of money or “talents”, trusting them to put it to good use while he’s away. This story speaks to us about missions by reminding us that we each have unique gifts and abilities from God, and it's our responsibility to use them to spread the Gospel and serve others. It challenges us to do our best with what we have – with the talents God has given us.
We are all given varying amounts of talents, but note that it doesn’t matter how many talents we have. All of us should make use of what we have been given to further the mission of Christ.
