Description

“God uses broken things. It takes broken soil to produce a crop, broken clouds to give rain, broken grain to give bread, broken bread to give strength. It is the broken alabaster box that gives forth perfume. It is Peter, weeping bitterly, who returns to greater power than ever.”
― Vance Havner
What is your Alabaster box or better yet, what is in your alabaster box? We might place our hopes, dreams, aspirations and everything else that is of value to us in that box hoping that we can break and share that box with someone. Later we find out that it was not worth it, we broke our jars and that someone just treated it as waste. And even though we give it our best to fix that box, it is already in pieces and cannot be put back to its original form anymore. We gather the pieces, and put it back the best way we remember it to be, we clutch on to it even more because we know what happens when it breaks. It breaks us, it makes us feel incomplete each time that it breaks.
Come and present it to someone who'll accept it wholly.
Come offer it to someone who'll also make you whole.
Come place it at the feet of Jesus.
Come break it at the head of Jesus.
To others it may be a complete waste, but to God it is beautiful - a Beautiful Waste.
