Who should I partner with? What's IBJJF? Is it the same as any other tournament? Should I cut weight? What should I work on today?

All these questions are asked time and time again on the mat. I decided to discuss a little about some of these topics to help shed some light on one aspect of the BJJ community when it comes to preparation for a tournament, how to train when you're a competitor, and identifying the way some tournaments work regarding weight checks and how to be mentally and physically prepared for your tournament. Thank you to my team that relentlessly sacrifices their time training jiu jitsu, competing, and sacrificing in the name of getting better. You are all ambassadors of the sport and make my journey better. I believe our school is a great example of a healthy environment that allows competitors, hobbyist, and so many other walks of life come together and achieve any goal we set for ourselves.
