Many Christians rightly identify the goal of parenting as raising children "in the training and instruction of the Lord” (Eph 6:4). This assignment is often coupled with the proverbial statement that if we "train up a child in the way he should go, when he is old, he will not depart from it" (Prov 22:6). The problem is, they sometimes do. There are occasions when, in spite of parental vigilance and effort, children abandon "the way." How can parents cope with that heartbreak? Is there anything that can be done to bring kids back into the fold? This week Josiah chats with his mom, Cynthia, about her experiences in parenting a wayward child.
