In the first of a two part interview, Jenelle and Jake have their first self-quarantined Zoom interview with another duo from Davis, California. Patrick and Beth Foraker are a mother and son duo making waves on the subject of full inclusion in the school system for individuals with a special need or disability. Patrick, who will turn 21 in less than two months has been fully included for his entire life. He is attending George Mason University currently as a sophomore, fully included. He also happens to have Down Syndrome. Learn about the journey that these two have taken to get Patrick to where he is now. Patrick tells us his side of moving across the country to go to school, his passion for theater, and the people that are important to him. Beth shares her perspective as a teacher who had a student with Down Syndrome be fully included in her very first year of teaching. Beth talks about her experience when Patrick was born, how his entire family accepted him for who he was without a second thought, and how she knew her entire life that she would raise a child with Down Syndrome.
