We are so happy to bring you Part Two of our interview with the Master of Inclusion, Kevin Schaefer. Jenelle does not return for the second half of our interview, but in a way, you get to know her even better than before. This part continues where we left off as Kevin tells us about his mission and why he actually does not like the word "inclusion." We discuss the impact he wants to leave on the world, and he even gives us a little insight as to how he stays so energetic and passionate everyday. We dive into his first teaching experience and how this first taste of systemic racism has shaped the way he lives. Kevin then turns the tables on the interview and asks me some questions I've never really thought about the answers to. He is the first person that really digs into The Beard and has me speechless, for a moment. I answer the question of why I am doing all of this, beyond Jenelle. We discuss the hole I found myself in years ago, and how I dug myself out to where I am today. We discuss the power of Jenelle and what she has taught me. That part had me in tears while editing. Jenelle's power is endless. I hope you get to experience that one day. Finally, Kevin asks me to speak for my parents, and THAT - was difficult to do.
