Another season kicks off with Michael Arkwright as the current Master of Forestry cohort takes their Professionalism in Forestry Class. These Master of Forestry Students at Michigan Tech's College of Forest Resources and Environmental Science have chosen specific natural resource topics to talk about this semester, beginning with Michael's research on Oak Wilt with his professor and advisor. We also touch base on some Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion topics in the natural resource field, and have a great discussion about the anthropomorphizing of trees and plants in scientific literature, non-scientific literature, and in Indigenous culture.
Be sure to check out the other episodes coming out this season. Students will be talking about much more of their research, classes, and field work.
