In an age of many complications, evil and frantic activity, it can be easy to wonder how it is possible for light to not be overwhelmed by so much darkness around us. Jesus was never rattled by accusation or confrontation; Jesus never gave up on the disciples who didn't seem to get what Jesus was about; Jesus never lost interest when it seemed people were trying to use His notoriety to gain something for themselves; Jesus never succumbed to the pressures around Him. In the midst of what would definitely defeat me, He was compassionate, spoke with wisdom, taught with weight and eternal substance, proclaimed with joy, and engaged with love. It boggles my mind what Jesus did and what Jesus still does. We will walk through some of Jesus' parables, miracles, and challenges to the disciples, religious leaders, and gentiles to uncover how beautifully trustworthy Jesus is in our lives today!
