Description

This week is a solo jam on a sticky topic for a lot of us; one that feels very collective as well as deeply personal. Belonging. Validation. What are these things? What do they look like when they are in their light qualities? What does it mean to truly belong? These are the deep questions that I am riffing on through the lens of my own experience as I walk a shamanic path for my life. I'm discussing this within two different realities: one is the very real experience of being socially isolated due to our technological culture (everyone constantly looking at their phones) coupled with the required isolation brought by the pandemic. Then, there are the deeply entrenched  emotional beliefs about belonging, which also create our realities. And I have recently uncovered a very pervasive, poisonous set of beliefs that I carry about my own ability to belong. I walk through my reckoning with belonging and how I am traveling towards the road of liberation in belonging to myself. I also include validation and how it is a required biological need for humans to be validated by other humans. It is also required of us to be able to validate ourselves in order to stay out of enmeshment and identity loss through codependency (and the ways we lose identity by outsourcing our validation power and abilities to meet our own needs for validation). learning to belong to ourselves fully and be fully able to validate our own experience is a retrieval process that requires us to continue to walk into the wilderness and move towards our hearts + spirits. It can feel isolating, it can feel like losing touch with what once was, it can affirm our worst fears about loneliness. Especially when we start ramping up on our spiritual quest for our original medicine and wisdom: it is an untethered and untraveled path. This removal of poisonous beliefs about myself and my belonging is the next quest on my journey that I am currently moving through. What I know for sure right now is this: I belong. You belong. Wherever we are, on whatever journey we take, we belong. A'ho
