Let's be real - getting in shape isn't easy. It's tough. It'll test you and try you and take you to places you don't want to be. The sheer process itself is a daily challenge. This is just the truth - regardless of what your Instagram heroes might suggest.

Given that, there's one interesting little phenomenon that occurs within these struggles that really makes everything that much harder. I call it the 'Time Lag', and it's something that dawned on me years ago, but I'm just now sharing with the world now.

To make matters worse - this lag ends up hitting us on both ends of the physical fitness process...
