Dividends are a powerful thing, when it comes to the world of investing - especially long-term investing. A dividend is literally nothing more than a cash payment made from the company to you - the shareholder. As a result, the "yield" that you earn from the dividends is based on your purchase price in the stock, which is fixed. Thus, your dividend yield is "frozen".
Actually, as I realized mid-segment, it's not frozen. It's not frozen at all. It's better than that...it's actually the exact opposite of a popsicle melting...whatever that is.
