Description

To love is to be vulnerable, and as you've heard us say so many times, vulnerability always requires courage!

When you allow yourself to love, you open yourself up to the pain of rejection, of loss, of disappointment. You open yourself to care and worry. Things MATTER once love is involved. And when we make a commitment to love, we're in it "for better or for worse"...we commit to weathering hard things with those we love.

In this episode we talk about why this is a step of courage we should take and how to take it. Listen in!

Here is the full text of the CS Lewis quote we shared during the episode:

“To love at all is to be vulnerable. Love anything and your heart will be wrung and possibly broken. If you want to make sure of keeping it intact you must give it to no one, not even an animal. Wrap it carefully round with hobbies and little luxuries; avoid all entanglements. Lock it up safe in the casket or coffin of your selfishness. But in that casket, safe, dark, motionless, airless, it will change. It will not be broken; it will become unbreakable, impenetrable, irredeemable. To love is to be vulnerable.”
